However, the big news from the US is that the EPA has released its draft Energy Star specification for luminaires, which includes LEDs as part of a technology-neutral approach.

EPA has unveiled its long-awaited Luminaires specification, which will eventually replace the existing Residential Light Fixtures (V4.2) and Solid State Lighting Luminaires (V1.1) specifications.

Future Lighting Solutions adds royalty-free eligibility mark to LED light engines
As part of its expanded relationship with Royal Philips Electronics, Future Lighting Solutions will offer simpleLED light engines with a special logo to indicate they are part of Philips’ LED-based licensing program.
