 Dr. Weijun Xiao is an assistant professor in the Department ofElectrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).Before join VCU, he was a research associate in the Department of Electricaland Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He was arecipient of 2009 Computing Innovation Fellowship sponsored by the NationalScience Foundation and the Computing Research Association. This fellowshipproject was extremely competitive. Only 60 over more than 500 applicants havebeen awarded and three Chinese scholars received the fellowship. He received aBest Paper Award at the 30th IEEE International Conference on Computer Design(ICCD 2012). He published more than 40 papers at top-rank conferences andjournals such as ISCA, ICDCS, ICS, and IEEE TPDS. He received his PhD inelectrical and computer engineering from the University of Rhode Island andboth his bachelor, master, and PhD degrees in computer science from HuazhongUniversity of Science and Technology. His research interests includehigh-performance and GPU computing, data storage, embedded systems, computerarchitecture, and performance evaluation. His research has been supported bythe National Science Foundation.
